Trail of Dreams Almost Home

We have entered into the last part of our journey. January 21,2009 we arrived in New York welcomed by our wonderful host and hostess Entwah, and Angie. There was a concert at Medgar Evars College. An Interfaith concert, was given and we had a good time. There were several other events that took place found on trailofdreamsworldpeacewalk.com  We ate lots of good food and  met a lot of wonderful people. Thanks Entwah and Angie for a great stay in New York City.

In February 2009 we were welcomed in Newark,  New Jersey with a police escort into the city, news media greeted us and we were on cable TV.  We  planted Peace Poles in 2 local parks, and there was a concert at one of the local Churches.  Proclamations were presented to us from the City of Newark and the City Council. We were  hosted by President Council woman Mildred Crump who was responsible for our entire weekend. Thank you Council woman Crump, your staff, and the City of Newark.

We also went to Holmdell, NJ where Irene Gibson and her husband  was our host and hostess. We presented at her church and were welcomed in their home. Thanks to all who made our stay a wonderful experience.

In Philadelphia we were welcomed by Sam lackey who performed a concert on our behalf at the Historical Unity Church there in Philadelphia.  We were presented a Proclamation from the City of Philadelphia, and the Ambassadors for Peace. Thanks Sam for showing us a wonderful time in your fair city.

Our next stop was Baltimore, MD where Maria Broom was our hostess for the first two weeks, and  our  team members Nefertiti Myrick and her husband Ricardo Myrick hosted us for the remainder of our stay.Through Neferitti's continuous efforts. We presented at One God One Thought Church where Reverend Burnett was our hostess. We were presented Proclamations from the city of Baltimore and the State of Maryland. We walked in several of the neighborhoods there and a concert was given on our behalf. Thanks Maria, Nef,  Ricardo, OGOT and all of Baltimore for your wonderful hospitality. There was an article written in the Baltimore Times on our journey.

Washington DC was awesome. We walked with another peace walker by the name of Danny Garcia who has been walking around the world for Peace for the last 12 years. We presented to the youngest peace pilgrims of all,  Little Friends for Peace at Perry School. We had a lot of articles published in the Washington Post; Washington Times; Washington Informer; Howard University  Hillstop News Paper; and was interviewed on Exxum Satalite Radio; WHUR Radio; and Voice of America. We were interviewed outside the White House by local TV, NBC news; all do to  the help of Edith Billups of the Gabriel Group, who has been doing fantastic promotional work for the Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk. None of this would be possible without the exceptional work of Ombassa Sophera the International Co-ordinator for TDWPW. Thanks to everyone for making our stay in Washington DC exceptional.

We are now in Virginia staying with the family of one of our members and have had a lot of R&R we are loving it. We will be back on the road March 11th and I will report later on this part of our journey.

We are almost home and we look forward to seeing a lot of you on our return  Peace and Love Karen
